This Easter, our choir did an Easter Contata which talked of Christ's birth, life, death, and resurrection in our Sacrament Meeting. I am the accompanist for the choir and feel honored to play for so many wonderful, talented people in the ward who give of their time and talents to make a beautiful, sacred service to honor Christ on this very special day. I felt it was a tremendous success. Afterwards, George taught the gospel doctrine class and shared this video about Christ's resurrection. It was beautiful. The link should take you right to it.
After church, Kyle and Kim, Carter, Jenna, and Brady traveled from Orlando to be with us on this special day.
After dinner, we had an Easter egg hunt. The yard is just coming back a little from winter-kill, so it made hiding the eggs a little trickier with no deep grass. Kyle, George and I did a great job, however, finding good hiding places, I thought.
Brady got a 30-second head start . . .
then Jenna . . .
and then a fast 30-seconds later, Carter.
They were all excited for the candy, but mostly were looking for the money which was inside five or six of them.
Even though Carter left last, he still found the most eggs.

Harley just enjoyed the beautiful, sunny day. He wasn't too interested in those Easter eggs. (See why it's hard to have trees. The raking is just continual!)
After the hunt, we took Kyle's family for the nostalgia trip which most of the kids and grand kids seem to enjoy. This is the little house that Grandpa Copeland (George's dad) built and George lived in until 5th grade. They have just re-painted it, so it really looks good!
So many memories! We, also, showed them where he moved across the river, and his two elementary schools. That's about all the time they had before it was time to go back. But, we'll show them other places on memory lane next time. A wonderful day with a wonderful family!
I want to close this blog again with the words of Elder Scott: "This Easter, resolve to make the Lord Jesus Christ the living center of your home. Be sure that every decision you make, whether it be of a spiritual or physical nature, be guided by the thought “What would the Lord Jesus Christ have me do?” When the Savior is the center of your home, it is filled with peace and serenity. There is a spirit of calm assurance that pervades the home that is felt by the children and adults alike."
This would be the hope and prayer of both George and me that we all might remember this in all of our homes.

Wonderful, inspirational words!
I LOVE Easter!! Looks like it was perfect with Kim and Kyle and their family. Interesting how even teenagers like egghunts when there is money involved!! :)
I enjoy how you teach such important gospel principles as you report your family events. You certainly are always a teacher and great example to your beautiful family.
Particularly enjoyable to me was to see Kyle and Kim's children and how they have changed since we last were with them. We miss them being closer to us here in the west.
Looks like Easter was perfect for the Copelands!!
