Upon returning from Utah, Kyle and Kim were going on a cruise with his work, so they asked if their three children could come for the week. Of course, we said, "Yes, we'd love them!" How special it has been to be able to spend a little more one-on-one time with so many of the grandchildren this summer.
The first thing they wanted to do was go to the Museum of Science and History. It has so many hands on things for kids to do. Brady's favorite was pumping the blood through the body. He called it "Jello"!
Carter and Jenna got up close and personal with a friendly possum. The guide showed how they hang from their tails from trees.
They saw small turtles and baby gators:
And they even got to watch a tortoise crawl around on the floor by them.
Brady wanted a tunnel for the tortoise to crawl through. He wasn't quite so cooperative.
Some displays showed animals in their surroundings.
The interns there talked about the different parts of an insect and how to identify them. It was so interesting!
They all got to put on special glasses to see why an insect can see so many different directions at once. (That's why you can't catch those flies!)
An aquarium filled with fish was so fascinating.
The tree house was a favorite.
But what would kids do if they couldn't play in water? This was one of the funnest things they did!
The next day we went swimming--after all, it was 92 degrees with 95 percent humidity!
