Lauren's Birthday and Baptism--What a Special Day!

From Washington, I flew to Utah on Friday, June 13, 2008. What a special trip because now I would get to see Kyle and Kim's family and Kevin and Angie's family. On Saturday, I started out by going to Carter's baseball game.

Brady was ready for the hot Utah sun while watching Carter play!

Angie and I then went shopping with the girls to get birthday presents! We had a have a little treat along the way!

Eight-years-old is always such a highly anticipated birthday because it is the baptism year. I don't know of anyone who has looked forward to this more than Lauren. She was just beaming the whole day! This event was actually quite unique as Lauren was being baptized exactly on her eighth birthday. Here she is with her dad, Kevin, right before the meeting started. Kevin performed the baptism. Even after coming out of the water, she still had that big, beautiful smile!

After the baptism and confirmation which was also performed by her father, we took pictures outside. Here are Kevin's five children and Kyle's three. (Taylor, Kade, Carter, Connor - Back row; Jenna, Lauren, Hannah, and Brady - Front row)

Kevin and Angie's family.

Kyle and Kim's family.

Jenna, Lauren, a friend of Lauren's who was also baptized this day--there were five eight-year-olds total--and Hannah

The two proud grandmas--Grandma Laura and Grandma Marti.

Angie organized and fixed a wonderful light dinner at their home after the baptism. Lauren then got to open her presents. You can see how excited she was about everything!

And, of course, Lauren received her own scriptures as most eight-year-olds do. Now it was birthday cake time! Doesn't it look delicious!

Grandpa Robert was so proud of Lauren, and her Grandpa George was, too, even though he couldn't be there in person. He was thinking of Lauren, as we all were, and so happy that she made the decision to be baptized. We know her Heavenly Father is proud of her, too! We love you, Lauren!
