Garrett's Very Special Day

Although Garrett actually turned eight in November and could have been baptized any time in December, George and I were gone so much that month, that he and his family chose to wait until January.  So January 9th was finally the day!

Garrett with his mom and dad.

The entire meeting was so spiritual and uplifting.  Garrett had this smile the entire time!

Amy had fixed a special table that was all about Garrett and this special baptismal day.

She, also, had a picture frame with his baptismal announcement in it.  People could write special comments about the day on it.

I gave up trying to get Lola to smile because this is her new smile, so it was either the one above or the one below.  Hah!

It was special to have Uncle Malcolm and Aunt Elda attend the baptism.  (George's brother-in-law and sister)

After the baptism, we all went into the serving area where Amy had planned lots of yummy refreshments.

Isaac surely thought they were great!

Yes, it's that smile again.

Garrett opened his gift from Grandpa George and Grandma Laura.

His baptismal book about this very special day, plus scripture stickers to remind him of special verses in the scriptures.

Garrett with Bishop Pannell.

Lola with her daddy . . . she started to dance with him.

Two of Garrett's special Primary teachers were also there.
Brother Alexander

Brother Pegarella

Two of Garrett's Primary classmates who have already been baptized:  Molly and Hailey

Two of Garrett's second cousins on the Copeland side, Olivia and Sophia Cheshire.

After the baptism and the festivities afterwards, there were three tired kids--but it was certainly a day that Garrett and all of us there will never forget!  Congratulations, Garrett!  We love you!

What a special day for Garrett and such a great party afterwards. Amy and Jeff have darling children and they all seem to love their grand parents. I didn't see you and George in any of the photos. Were you for sure there? Probably just got busy taking photos of everyone else like you are so good at. Cute blog!

Garrett is such a darling, happy young man! His smile was so cute in every picture. That's great that Jeff and Amy (and Garrett) waited for you and George to be home to make his day so special. You are wonderful grandparents!!
