Return to Texas

After coming home from our Thanksgiving Week in California, I had 24 hours to wash clothes, spiffy up the house, and re-pack so that I could fly out the next day to go back to Dallas.
Yes, I got to tend these two little young 'uns while their dad and mother spent a few days in New York City.  We had such a great time!  It was really easy dressing Kennedy each day--and night--just put on her Anna dress and she was a happy little camper!
One night, we went to the ward Christmas dinner and program.  Both Cameron and Anne and Craig and Cassie are in the same ward, so I got to see Sydney, Jaxon, Mason, and Gavin there, too.  Anne had been in charge of the dinner and decorations.  They were beautiful and the dinner was divine!

Anne seemed so calm even though they only planned on about 150 people and they ended up having over 300!  They were still able to handle the crowd and everyone was seated after bringing in more and more tables--and the food stretched just fine to feed everyone!
The Stake Patriarch, who is also in their ward, read the Nativity Story from Luke and all the primary children were the characters.  Here Gavin and Riley were little lambs that came with the shepherds.
Kennedy loved the Christmas trees which lined the entrance way.
The entire evening was such a success, and I was so glad that I was able to attend.
I was pretty proud of getting these two ready for church and got Kennedy to wear something other than her Anna dress!
While I was staying there, I, also, got to see three of my grandsons play their basketball games.  It takes me back to the days of cheering for my sons!  Mason - - -
 Isaac (Number 10) - - -

 and Jaxon.
I loved being a cheerleader again!
I, also, was able to attend the Christmas Concert put on by Sydney's orchestra which is absolutely fantastic!  They played "Sleigh Ride" which sounded just like Mannheim Steamroller!  Here, they were acknowledging all those who had made district band from her school orchestra.  This was the second year Sydney achieved this honor.  (Front row--second from left.)

The boys were having fun after the concert waiting for us to go.  All in all, so many fun events that I enjoyed in addition to the fun times with Riley and Kennedy!
Meanwhile, Craig and Cassie looked like they were having the greatest time in New York!  Enjoying Times Square!
Going to Ground Zero.

They even attended a Knicks and Portland game.
Empire State Building look-out.

And a man after his dad's heart--eating the favorite treat of all!  Ice cream!  Doesn't matter the temperature outside--ice cream is the best.
So glad Craig and Cassie had such a great time because I had a great time with the grand kids and appreciate being able to spend this time with them!
