Fabulous February - 2017

February in Washington didn't start out so fabulous!  Still more snow!  George and I just aren't fans of snow.  And it really bothers me when George goes out with just a thin coat and his penny loafers on to shovel the snow!

So, since we couldn't do much outside, we really enjoyed activities that took us indoors.  We always LOVE to watch Ethan in his sports.  This day was truly memorable because one of the boys--Dominique--had a baby sister who was born full-term, but was stillborn.  It broke all of our hearts when this happened.
We had attended the viewing and saw the grieving parents, Dom and his younger brother just a couple of days before.  We had all been so excited to see the new little sister--who we said could be the cheerleader in the family.  So in honor of Dom's little sister, all the boys wore pink ribbons on their shoes and dedicated the game to Dom's family.  The team did the same thing with copper colored bows when Ethan's little brother, Cannon, passed away.
The boys ended up winning by a landslide and were thrilled to have played so well for Dom's family.
After the game, Ethan went home, got cleaned up, and went to his first stake dance now that he was 14 years old!  He cleans up pretty well, doesn't he!
Another indoor activity:  I have been needing a new desk chair, so after purchasing one, we found out that it would need to be assembled.  Oh, no!  We're the people who always paid for someone else to assemble something, especially on Christmas Eve when there were so many things to assemble and we were so stressed!
But I was so impressed that George just dove in and said he was going to accomplish this!
I was the official handing-the-right-tool-and-part to him!

Voila!  He did it!
And I LOVE it!  Thanks so much to George for making this happen!

And still more snow!!!

February Copeland Birthdays

This beautiful little grand daughter is growing up to be a beautiful young lady--inside and out!  Sydney is not only an amazing singer and actress in all her school productions, she somehow finds time to do great in her school work and church assignments.  She is a friend to all she meets!

Our daughter-in-law, Anne, is such a wonderful wife to Cameron and mother to their four children.  She loves to cook, is a fantastic photographer, has such a cheery personality, and continually makes other smile!  She's always there to help others out, and we LOVE having her in the Copeland family!

Our wonderful daughter-in-law, Cassie, reminds me of a beautiful swan floating on a pond, but beneath the water her feet are really churning!  She is so busy with three little kids, a chubby cat, a frisky dog, a very busy husband, but appearing to handle it all with ease!  We all LOVE her unique sense of humor and how much she always adds to the group!

Our grand daughter-in-law, Ellie, has been such a blessing in all of our lives!  Not only is she such a talented interior designer, she has been such a dedicated wife in helping her husband finish college, and now they're starting to build their first home.  She is one of the most positive and kind persons I know!
Our grandson, Preston, is such a fun kid that loves to play basketball and soccer, has almost read all the Harry Potter books, and is truly one of the most avid Warriors fans I've ever met!  He puts going to a Warriors' game with his family before going on a vacation.  Oh, yes, and he's a mighty good chess player too!  Although he's tried to teach me, I still don't get that game!

Valentine's Day
To celebrate Valentine's Day, Kent, Natalie, Ethan and Ella came to Richland for dinner the Sunday before.   Natalie decorated the table, and just like she always does, did it beautifully!
We had such a great dinner together--so you can see, even though it was cold outside, we celebrated some pretty "fabulous" things this month!
