Trip to India and Surrounding Areas - Trip back to Goa, India, to Board the Ship - April 11, 2017

Got up and went to eat breakfast in the hotel.  There wasn't much in the way of good food in the hotel, however.  We then loaded our luggage on the bus.  The Delhi Airport was about half an hour way.
 Arrival at the Delhi Airport.
The airtime from Delhi to Goa was about 2 1/2 hours long.

After we landed in the Goa Airport, we were picked up by a bus that looked all "pimped up," with leopard skin fabric covering the entire inside.  Hah!  It took us through the very old area of Delhi with tiny roads and scary driving conditions.
We had to get into a long line to get past government security to get into the ship terminal where we would be meeting up with our ship.  We got out when the government security asked us to, but then we were informed they weren't going to accept our landing forms because they were for Cochin landing (where we had originally left the ship from, not Goa landing (where we now were).  We had to get out of the gigantic line of all the cars and buses that were pushing in.
After awhile, the government official brought our yellow cards that allowed us to get by.  They must have contacted the ship to see if we should be allowed in and they hurriedly fixed us new cards.  The ship crew must have been embarrassed because we later received a free champagne bottle in each of our rooms--but since we were all Mormons and don't drink, we just gave them to our room stewards.  Then our bus had to turn around to get us back in line.  We hoped the officials hadn't gone to lunch and we would have to start over!
Finally, we got through, then it became a mess to get our new key cards, show our passports, turn them in, and show our yellow cards to finally get on the ship.  We all were so hot and exhausted!  We unloaded our luggage--so happy to be back into our little room on the ship.  We had to make a trip to Deck 10 and get fruit punch and ice cream, which tasted extra good!  Then we went out on the top deck to take pictures of the  Goa harbor.

After resting a few minutes in our room, we got ready for dinner.  We never even intended on attending the night show because we were just too exhausted.  We read a little and fell asleep at 8:00 p.m.  Those were two very difficult days--to get to the Taj Mahal, one has to ride 1 1/2 hours to the airport from the port, fly 2 1/2 hours to Delhi, then take a bus for 4 hours, then take an electric cart for about a mile and a half, then you walk a ways from there!  It is situated way back into the inland of India.  However, I wouldn't have missed it for the world since we were in India, but I think it is a one and done for me!  Hah!

Sounds like quite the day!! And I thought getting to Machu Picchu was a lengthy process to get to!! Seeing the Taj Mahal would definitely be worth it, however, like you said.
