Christmas Holidays in Utah

This year, we spent two weeks staying with Kevin and Angie in Utah, along with a side-trip when they took us to Newport Beach in California.  We told them we were afraid they would be sick of us at the end of the two-weeks, but we all had such a great time together. At the end of that time, Lauren and Hannah told us they could build us a little house behind their house, or we could just stay in their basement forever.  That surely made us feel wanted!

Attending a Pre-Christmas Luncheon

Kevin's family took us to a wonderful pre-Christmas luncheon at such a beautiful location.

Now, Grandpa is with Lauren and Hannah.

Kade and Connor with the no-smile pose.

Kevin and Angie with four of their five children.  Their oldest son is on a two-year Mormon mission in Philadelphia, Spanish speaking.
Such a beautiful place with family you love--George and I will long remember this.

Kade's Basketball Practice

As our five boys were growing up, we tried to always keep them busy in activities where they could develop their skills and abilities, while learning teamwork.  George coached many of the boys' athletic teams in order to be involved in their lives.

Now, history is repeating itself as we were able to watch our son, Kevin coach our grandson, Kade's basketball team.

George and I were thrilled to watch Kevin patiently teaching the kids the fundamentals of basketball--no jungle ball techniques!

Watching Lauren Dance

What a joy it is to watch your grandchildren perform!  We were able to attend the high school basketball team's half time where Lauren performed with her dance team.  They did a hip-hop number which was just great!

Angie doing Lauren's hair.  Oh, do I remember those days of getting ready for performances with my two daughters.  However, I wasn't nearly so good at fixing their hair, and they soon learned to do their own or had friends do it for them.
All ready for the performance, and here we go . . .

Great job, Lauren!  In January, she starts on pointe in her ballet class at only 11 years old.  That is fantastic!

After all these fun activities, we all piled into Kevin and Angie's suburban and took off for a mini-vacation to California before Christmas.  Next up:  California, Here We Come!

How great for you to spend some time with Kevin and Angie's family at Christmas time. I'm sure they were grateful to have you with them supporting basketball games and dancing performances. I loved seeing their family at the Christmas party and especially loved seeing you and George able to be with them.

What a fun, different way to celebrate Christmas Eve! Everyone was all dressed up for a special dinner. I'm not surprised that Hannah and Lauren wanted you and George to live with them. Great pictures, Laura!
