Copeland March Madness

So many special events in the Copeland family happened in March that I wanted to blog about:

Brady's Eighth Birthday

Brady's family invited us to their home to celebrate his special eight-year-old birthday.  He is one excited boy because this is the year that he gets to be baptized!

We really enjoyed being with Kyle and Kim's family for Brady's special day.
Brady with his dad and sister, Jenna.  Notice his Sacramento Kings' basketball Jersey--why?  Because his favorite player is Jimmer who plays for Sacramento, so his Grandpa Scott and Grandma Patrice gave him this jersey which he proudly wears!

Going along with his favorite team player and favorite sport of basketball, his brother, Carter, gave him this special Brigham Young University flag which is hand signed by Jimmer, who played for B.Y.U. during his college days.

Like I said, Jimmer is Brady's favorite player, so his next present was a large lifesize poster of--you got it--Jimmer!

Brady, with his eight dollars--one for each year of his birthday.  This is a tradition Grandpa George and I have always followed since our kids were little.  That way it is kind of good to get older!

I, also, made Brady this Cougars knotted quilt.

During the opening of the presents, Carter and Grandpa George got in a little wrestling match.
Jeff and Amy's family went with us to the party.  Jenna was so kind to let Lola play with all her toys.  Lola couldn't find a baby bottle, so we all laughed when she improvised with this little bank that she used to feed the teddy bear.
Afterwards, Carter and Brady tried his Star Wars light sabers which he, also, got for his birthday.
Grandpa Laura, Brady, and Grandpa George

This is the darling cake that Jenna and Brady's mom fixed for him--a basketball, of course!

Brady, with his dad, eating the yummy red velvet birthday cake.
Then, after the party, Brady was able to do his favorite activity--it was his birthday, you know!  Playing basketball was what he wanted to do most!
Grandpa George, Kyle, and Brady all had a little shooting contest.  Actually, Kyle took them both!

Great day!  Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party, Brady.  We had so much fun!

Wow! You have just returned home from your trip to Texas and your cruise and you have already posted! You are such a "true-blue" poster. Kyle, Kim and their family seem to be doing so well and loving being in Florida. Darling family!

My goodness, Brady has grown up into such a handsome young man. Kyle doesn't have any babies any more!! It was wonderful to see photos of Kim and Kyle. I miss seeing them, especially Kyle. This last photo of the three generations playing basketball together is so heart-warming. Brady is lucky to live by you and George as he is growing up. I am grateful you have the opportunity to have more grand children as close as they are. Please tell Kim and Kyle "hello" for us.
