She's Here!

The entire Copeland family has been anxiously awaiting, along with the parents themselves, for the birth of Craig and Cassie's little girl.  So, on Saturday, October 6th, the big event finally took place!

After 14 hours of labor (that's half the time it took her to get Riley here--28 hours of labor) . . . Craig and Cassie's little girl made her way into this world.  It was quite fitting that she came on the exact day that her parents were"watching" the Gator-LSU game.  That's the only game where Cassie isn't a Gator anymore.  But fortunately, even though her team lost, she had a beautiful event happen the same day to take her mind off it!

Their little girl weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz.--that was 2 oz. smaller than her brother.  Look at all that dark hair!

I love this picture of Riley seeing his baby sister for the first time.

Well, Craig and Cassie still hadn't decided on a name for this little girl after two days of being in the hospital.   Everyone was continually texting back and forth to poor Craig and Cassie with suggestions.  Some of the ideas were pretty funny--especially Cameron's suggestions taken from a Comedy Central sketch which still has me laughing!  Anyway, I'll bet they don't let that happen next time, and they go prepared with a name!

Finally, after two days, we all received the text with:

Meet Ms. Kennedy Copeland

We all loved the name and said it certainly fits her!

 Going to her new home.

Since going home, I think Kennedy's mommy is having the greatest time dressing her in all her cute outfits.  Craig says Cassie is like a little girl with a doll and loves to change her clothes.

Aren't cell phones the greatest!  Nearly every day we get a text with a new picture.  She changes so much every day.  She is now one week old.  We are thrilled to have another little girl in the family--we have 17 grandsons and with Kennedy, this makes only 8 grand daughters.  But, we love them all--all twenty-five of them!

Way to go, Craig and Cassie.  Congratulations!  We can't wait to hold her ourselves!

I just had to add this one--are those boots just the cutest on this beautiful little baby girl!

There is definitely nothing like a girl! We are so happy for Craig and Cassie with their new little Kennedy! Cassie is dressing her up like a doll because she looks like a little doll with all of that hair. She especially looks darling with the yellow dress on. Congratulations to you and George also. Twenty-five grandchildren--that is something to be so proud of.

How WONDERFUL!! I always felt how odd it was that we have these naked little babies and in the hospital they are all swaddled. Then when we get them home we start dressing them up and it must be so strange. She is adorable. How great to welcome a new one into the family - and a girl in your boy-heavy family. ENJOY!!

Congratulations on your 25th grand child. Just imagine what you and George started because you two fell in love. The Copeland name will be carried on through many generations to come with all those boys. And now, Craig and Cassie will learn the wonders of raising a sweet baby girl as well. Keep up the great work Grandma Laura. You are doing a good job loving and caring for your numerous posterity.

It is very neat that Craig and Cassie have the opportunity to raise a sweet little girl. She is just darling. That last photo with her little Ugg boots is just precious. I also love the fact that you and George have all those grandsons to carry on the Copeland name. Keep up the good work caring for your numerous grand children!
