Lauren and I went with Angie to meet Ellie's sister at the Cedar Hills Clubhouse a few days before the wedding to check out where both the wedding luncheon and reception would be held. We had fun checking out the site while Angie and Ellie's sister worked out all the details.
Soon all of this would be transformed to a magical wonderland for the special events.
Such a beautiful location seen from the veranda--both the mountains and the lake.
Inside, the walls are painted with a 3-D effect that look like the mountain trees in the area, the quaking aspen, I believe.
With lots of work the night before, plus the few hours after the wedding before the lunch, here's how it all turned out:

It was so nice to have the luncheon and the reception in the same place so that many items could be used for both.

This was a young lady who had gone to school with Ellie and was a newly wed herself (already getting her new husband to help out with projects!) Ellie's sister was the head planner for the reception and was giving them a few instructions. She did a fantastic job in making sure everything was just how Ellie had envisioned it.
After the many pictures taken at the temple grounds, Taylor and Ellie arrived at the luncheon. This was the first time that they had seen everything set up, so they took a minute to look around and the beautiful surroundings . . .
and then started greeting the guests.

It is always difficult to hold Cannon without getting emotional. His is such a pure spirit that just goes straight to your heart.
We were all happy when Mark arrived.
After the luncheon, the tributes began, first by Shaun . . .
and then Angie.
Kevin was next . . .
followed by Tifany. Two amazing families who raised a wonderful son.
Ellie's mother then spoke . . .
followed by her father.
Ellie's sister and her daughter then gave a tribute . . .
followed by her brother.
He and his wife then played a beautiful song dedicated to the newly weds.
Now it was Taylor and Ellie's turn.

Such a great place to hold the wedding luncheon and the reception--so open and inviting! I was impressed with the comments made by Angie, Kevin, Tifany and Shaun about raising Taylor and how they put all their pride aside and just concentrated on bringing up Taylor in a happy atmosphere between the two families. Great post as always!
