The first big event I got to take part in was see my two grandsons before they left for the Prom. I am one lucky grandma to have such handsome grandsons!
Carter (Kyle and Kim) and Kade (Kevin and Angie)
They were both so excited for this big event and both looked like a million dollars!
Carter and his beautiful date, Ava
Kade and his beautiful date, Izzy
Kade and Izzy's moms put this on Instagram. Their dads have been friends since high school, and their mothers since the day they were each married. Therefore, it was only natural that Kade and Izzy would be best friends. Kade captioned it, "First Kiss, First Prom." So cute!!!
These are the couples who went together for the pre- and post-parties plus the dance!

They were so sweet to take a picture with their grandma. I felt so privileged!

Carter with his mom, Kim

Kade with his mother, Angie
Kade with his dad, Kevin. (Carter's dad was on the plane coming back from work.)
Now, we had to get the little sisters involved. Here is Hannah with her brother, Kade.
And Jenna who is always such a great sister to her brother, Carter.
Hannah wanted a picture of one of Kade's friends, Tyler, who is like a big brother to her.
What a fun time we had with all of these young people! They were all so excited and having fun together. I was thrilled that I got to be there for the picture-taking part to be able to see the excitement!
(A week later, our grandson, Parker, went to the Prom in California. I wish I could have been there for his prom night, too, but thank goodness someone else took pictures!)
After taking the prom pictures, we dashed to the next exciting event, which was Lauren's dance competition.
On Friday night, Lauren competed in a solo competition where she scored Platinum for her beautiful dance. She absolutely loves to dance, and it shows through her graceful dancing. She is a joy to watch!
Her cousin, Jenna, came along to watch and cheer for her.
On Saturday, Lauren's dance troupe competed in four more numbers. They scored high in all of them and one first place in one of their numbers. They are fantastic!
Such hard-working girls who love to be together!
Way to go, Lauren! So proud of how hard you work in all you do!
A few nights later, I was able to attend Hannah's piano recital. She did so well! Here she is with her piano teacher and one of her friends who, also, played that evening. Hannah played "Fur Elise" and "Don't Stop Believing," one of her dad's favorite songs.
So, I stayed at Kyle and Kim's with Carter and Brady while Kim and Jenna went to Florida with Kyle. After the recital, Brady told me he wanted to get a cake for Hannah and Lauren to say how well they did at what they had both done--Lauren for her dance and Hannah for her piano. So, this is what we got them. I think they were pretty happy with the cake! Yes, it looks pretty chocolatey, but it was the only one left at the bakery! And yes, it was delicious! You only had to have a tiny slice!
A couple of nights later, Brady had his piano recital. He has just started not too long ago. I couldn't believe how well he did! He has perfect timing and really is liking it! So proud of him! He was really my little buddy while his parents were gone. We thought we were going to have time to do more fun things, but he ended up having three hours of homework every night which he never complained about--just dove in to get it done. Personally, I think that is way overboard for an eleven-year-old, but I'm a retired teacher now, so I don't have any say anymore. Hah!
Thanks so much for the wonderful week I got to stay in Utah. I loved all the activities I was able to go to and try to keep up with the many directions that Kevin and Kyle's families are going in.
I then boarded the plane Friday morning to fly to Seattle where Kent and Natalie, Ethan and Ella, and George had driven. On to more fun activities!
