Christmastime at the Zoo

Yes, in Florida, one can actually go to the zoo with perhaps just a sweater and enjoy the beautiful outdoors, the amazing animals, and the grand kids all at the same time!  Since George and I were going to be gone for over two weeks at Christmas, we wanted to do something with Jeff and Amy's family before we left.  As it turned out, George was unable to go, but I had a fantastic time with the Barlows!

First things first:  Waiting at the train station for the zoo train.

The gators are always a favorite!

Stopping for lunch.

Lola modeling a little hat she found.

I remember when our kids used to love the petting park themselves!

The funnest part about the merry-go-round is choosing which animal to ride.

Who's going to back up?

This cracked me up.  What are all three of them looking at?

This is one big Komoda dragon!

When the zoo worker came near the fence, all the kangaroos came hopping over.  When we were in Australia, they let us right in with the kangaroos and they came right up to us!

Feeding the beautiful birds some nectar.

All too soon, it was time to go.
We always have to stop at these colorful turtles in the parking lot.  Thanks for the great time Barlows!  I had so much fun!

These Barlow kids are sooo cute! You are going to miss them a ton when they move, and I don't know what they are going to do without grandma and papa so close! Glad you had a fun day with them!

Great pictures!!! I feel like I've been there. One of these days (before you leave Jacksonville) you will have to take us to that wonderful zoo!
