Garrett's Birthday with Friends

Right before Christmas, Amy decided that Garrett should have a 10-year-old birthday party where he could invite friends since he  had never had anything but a family birthday party.  Although Garrett hadn't even asked for it, he was thrilled when she mentioned it.  Therefore, when Grandpa George and I were invited, we felt pretty lucky that we were, also, considered some of Garrett's friends.  The place:  Jump Zone!  A great place for kids to get out all their wiggles and have a great time, too!

Of course, his closest friends--his sister Lola and brother Isaac, had a great time, too!

Grandpa George loves to "bug" Lola.  Whenever he comes to her house, she specifically asks him to "bug" her.

Garrett was so happy that his cousins from Orlando came:  Jenna and Brady.

Poor Brady was just getting over a big bruise on his cheek where he fell on his nightstand.

Here Jenna was practicing her back handsprings!

There were, also, games for the kids to play.

After the jumping and games, it was time for the FOOD!

And the birthday cake was so special--a batman cake!
Singing "Happy Birthday" to Garrett.

Isaac wanted to try the big chair with Garrett.

Amy made all of these little buckets--including cutting out the bats and each of the kids' names on her vinyl cutter!  So much work!  As you can tell, the theme was "Batman," which is Garrett's favorite superhero!

In addition, she made each of them a Batman mask!  They were so cute and clever!

Of course, opening the presents is always so much fun!

All that jumping was making Lola tired.

Thanks, Kim, for bringing the cousins to Garrett's party.

Thanks, Garrett, for inviting us to your "friend" birthday party.
What a great party for such a great young man!

What a perfect place to have a birthday party! Amy went to so much work. I'm sure Garrett will always remember the big day. That's so cute that Garrett considers you and George his friends. That's when you know you are being successful as grandparents!

Amy and Jeff have such a sweet family. This party will be hard to follow because it looked like a huge success, especially to have cousins come to join the celebration, Aren't grand kids just the greatest!!
