When I had been in San Francisco in September and October, I had made both Parker and Preston a blanket out of their Warrior shirts that they had received at the games they went to over the last couple of years. They have season tickets and the entire family are Warrior fans through and through! We sent Parker's blanket to him in Philadelphia for his birthday, but Preston had no idea I was, also, working on one for him. So he was pretty surprised and happy when he got it for Christmas.
As a matter of fact, Preston pretty much got Warrior items in every present he got, which certainly made for one happy kid!
He requested some I-Tunes cards.
Tyson has something at Game Stop that he wanted and requested a gift card for that.
For Bracken, who would be starting his Sophomore year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, we got very practical items for him in his new apartment.
George was given a really nice coat from the Wildes. With moving to a colder climate, I feel certain he will be using it more than he thinks he will!
We had a beautiful "After Christmas" time with the Wildes.
While we are at the Wilde's home, Rosco is never more than a quarter inch away from Grandpa George. That dog seriously has security issues--Alison calls him needy!
Do you see what I mean? Sometimes it is a little embarrassing the places he decides to be! Hah!
Roxie is a little more reserved. As we were all kneeling down for prayer, she decided to join us.
One day while we were there, we were thrilled that two of Parker's high school friends came for lunch. It was especially great to see Ryan who had gone on the Baltic Cruise with us this past summer. He is attending school in Arizona and came back for a visit. They asked lots of questions about Parker's mission in Philadelphia.
A few days after Bracken's homecoming, John, Alison, and Preston flew along with Bracken to take him out to school. George and I stayed with Tyson because of his soccer practices and games. We love watching Tyson play on his high school soccer team. On this day, we drove to a place called Pittsburg, California, which is really part of Oakland. It was freezing cold that day. We were shivering on the bleachers, but we wouldn't have missed it for anything!
The Pirates (who Tyson's team was playing) scored within the first five minutes. It looked like the opposing team would win with a score of 1-0 because neither team scored in the second half.
However, with about three minutes left in the game, Tyson kicked towards the goal--goalie caught it--but one minute later he struck again! Yes, it went right in over the top of the goalie to the right and straight into the net! So exciting! So instead of losing the game, Tyson's team tied due to Tyson's goal. Way to go, Tyson!
And finally, George flew home, I flew to Utah for some events there, and it was time for Alison and Preston to say "good-bye" to Bracken since they were flying back to California. (John had been so sick the night before, so that's why he's not in the picture.) This time, it wasn't nearly as hard to say "good-bye." They can now call anytime they want and see each other whenever they make the journey between California and Utah. Such a difference than when he was in Australia. But, Bracken is so excited for school, and we all wish him the best in the next part of his life!

We LOVE when you come (that includes Rosco and Roxy), but HATE when you leave! Thanks for always being willing to help us in any situation. So grateful you were there when Tyson scored his goal. Next best thing that the parents cheering you on is your grandparents, and you and dad are perfect at that! Preston and his blanket are inseparable......kind of like Rosco with dad!! :)
